The Art Of
I make large-
Within these vibrantly colored landscapes, there is a contrast between the tranquil and the baleful. These juxtaposed realities are thoughts coming from dreams and daydreams resulting in tumultuous and sublime landscapes that give significance to the unconscious intelligence, while finding a solution to life’s problems. Figures often enter or descend into other dimensions through carved doorways or portals to illustrate the passing of time.
I use personal symbolism such as animals and ambiguous body forms to convey instinctual archetypes of man within the collective unconscious realm that all humankind shares. I went through an ordeal with testicular cancer, and the drive to heal oneself continues to transcend within my work. Having been labeled with Asperger Syndrome within the last few years, I have begun to understand myself and others in new ways. While devotional and sometimes quiet, my paintings have encountered an interest in mandalas and other symbolism as I attempt to understand my own psychology and other people I encounter throughout my lifetime.
My paintings serve as one of my best ways of communication even when sometimes ambiguity offers the viewer their own unique experience that offers me a glimpse at another person's personality and state of emotion.
